We have been working hard to get Miti Asilia Adventures up and running, and are excited to announce our grand opening on June 5th! With air travel costs sky-high, there’s never been a better time to experience new domestic travel destinations. Start planning your summer Lushoto getaway and be among the first to try out this one-of-a-kind adventure.

Park Overview

Discover the ultimate Tanzanian outdoor adventure at Miti Asilia Adventures, located in the heart of Mkusu (Mkuzi) Forest Reserve just outside Lushoto in Tanga region. This untouched forest ecosystem offers a natural setting for eco-friendly tourism and forest-based activities for the whole family.

Soar through the treetops on our ziplines alongside endemic black-and-white colobus monkeys and challenge yourself on the first aerial challenge course in Tanzania, nestled in the highland forest canopy. There’s something for everyone at Miti Asilia Adventures, with much more planned for the future.

Activities in the Park

Ziplines

Get your adrenaline pumping as you sail through the air from tree to tree attached to a high-grade steel cable. We currently have five fully-operational ziplines, with many more on the way!

Challenge Course Obstacles

Coming in June 2026, Miti Asilia Adventures will feature a wide variety of challenging obstacles which participants must cross in order to move from tree to tree. Obstacles will appear in combination with ziplines to create routes of varying difficulty.

Activity Details

Plan Your Day

Plenty of adventure awaits you at Miti Asilia Adventures, from an hour to a full day. Here’s a sample itinerary for a half-day trip from Lushoto:

9:30 am: Leave hotel in Lushoto town, by car or bodaboda (motorcycle)
10:00 am: Arrive at Mkusu Forest Reserve, walk the smooth 600-meter path from the entrance to the Miti Asilia Adventures reception building
10:15: Arrive at Miti Asilia Adventures; begin check-in, equipment outfitting, and orientation
10:30: Start flying down ziplines and crossing challenging obstacles high up in the trees
11:30: Return equipment to the reception building
11:45: Relax with a cool soda or beer. Head down to Mkuzi Waterfalls, a five-minute walk from the reception building. Cool off in the natural pool and enjoy your packed lunch on the picnic tables or rocks.
12:45: Walk back to the parking area
1:15: Return to Lushoto town

Where to Find Us

We are located in Mkusu Forest Reserve, near Mkuzi Waterfalls. The park is just a 30 minute drive from Lushoto town. Most of the drive is paved, with the last three kilometers on a well-maintained dirt road.
