Hours

Miti Asilia Adventure Park Lushoto is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday, including holidays. Keep in mind that ropes course windows are two hours long, so no ropes course participants are able to start the course after 3 p.m. Guests doing the ropes course and kayak package must begin kayaking before 2 p.m. in order to complete all activities before close. The park is closed during the rainy season in April and May.

Know Before You Go

Guests should be aware of the following park rules prior to arriving:

Guests participating in the ropes course must wear closed-toed shoes at all times. A limited number of closed-toed shoes are available for rent at check-in.
Gloves must be worn at all times on the ropes course. Participants may bring their own gloves – garden gloves work well enough. Gloves are also available for purchase at check-in.
Skirts and dresses do not work with the ropes course harnesses and thus are not allowed for ropes course participants.
Tanzania Forest Services Agency (TFS) charges a forest entry fee to anyone entering the forest. These fees are included in the ticket prices for the ropes course and kayaking, but any guests not participating in Miti Asilia Adventure Park activities must pay the respective fee to the TFS agent at the forest entrance.

Ropes Course & Kayak Package

This package includes a full afternoon of adventure. Kayak down the beautiful Mkusu River river through the forest from the parking lot all the way to our reception tent, then don your harness and challenge yourself on our ropes course for two hours of adrenaline-filled fun. Includes all Tanzania Forest Services (TFS) forest entry and river use fees, along with safety harness, lanyard, and life vest rental.

Ropes Course

Give yourself a challenge and face your fears as you navigate a variety of obstacles and ziplines up in the trees, making your way through the forest canopy from start to finish. Participants can choose from easy, intermediate, and hard routes. Complete as many routes as you’d like in the two-hour time frame. Prices include TFS forest entry fees, plus safety harness and lanyard rental.

Kayaking

Get a unique look at the indigenous flora from your kayak on the calm, winding Mkusu River. Enter the water at the parking lot and make your way down to the exit point at the Miti Asilia reception tent. From there you can go for a hike, try out our ropes course, or go for a swim at the base of the waterfall.

Hiking

Guests not participating in Miti Asilia Adventure Park activities can still enjoy the forest on foot. TFS charges an entry fee for each guest, which are posted here for your convenience. These fees are payable to the TFS agent at the forest entrance, not Miti Asilia Adventure Park.

Equipment Rentals

Closed-toes shoes and gloves are mandatory for all ropes course participants. Guests are encouraged to bring their own shoes and gloves. Should you forget them at home, we do carry various sizes of gloves for purchase and shoes for rent, available at our reception tent.
